Autism in Children and Teens

Children and Teens diagnosed with Autism typically face their own set of unique challenges.

 

These challenges can include recognizing social cues, memorization difficulties, deducing or extrapolating information from written or verbal sources, difficulty with handwriting and composition, understanding abstract concepts, reading comprehension, fine motor skills, focus and concentration, and poor judgment.

 

Overcoming the effects of Autism:
This program is for students struggling with the effects of Autism. NLC Learning Specialists will work with the student’s natural gifts and learning style to reduce stress and increase focus, attention and organization. Students will be given new strategies for reading, writing, memorization, as well as inductive and deductive reasoning, also be taught specific strategies for reading, memorization, note-taking and writing/composition to maximize their natural abilities.

 

This program includes essential learning skills such as mental math for speed and accuracy, test-preparation, advanced test-taking strategies. Goal-setting, time management, and self-motivation are all included in this program to help the Autistic child succeed both in and out of the classroom. Enrollment includes our Parent Mentoring Program and one year support and follow-up at the Neuro-Linguistic Learning Center. (Scholarships Available)
